The project is inspired by Paul Rooney’s ‘Thin Air: The Psycho-Vocalic Discoveries of Alan Smithson’ (2009). The project is at its early stage of the development, however, it will partially appropriate the style of Paul Rooney’s piece. It can be seen as the continuing of the dialogue about a building called ‘H Block’ (Leeds Metropolitan University, UK) and its former residents. Up until September 2009, The LeedsMet Art School occupied the building but now it has moved to a new building across the road. The official name of the Art School is the Leeds School of Contemporary Art & Graphic Design. After the screening of Paul Rooney’s piece at Leeds Metropolitan University on 12th May 2010, I managed to get his attention to my idea and recently we have met for the second time to discuss about it. Fortunately, he is interested in my idea and has given me a permission to relate my project to his piece. More info to follow soon.
